Our company’s name is a tribute to the shirt number of a football legend who’s considered thé master strategist in the games’ history. #14 is one of the most iconic in the universal history of sports. Even today, #14 represents a mindset.

Check out this guy’s face. Meet Argentinian defender Ramon Heredia.

Heredia was a promising defender who already at a very young age played for top European teams such as Atlético Madrid & PSG. He was part of the Argentinian squad that was humiliated by Holland at the World Cup of ‘74 in Germany.

After yet another series of majestic dribbles by the iconic Dutch opponent wearing #14, Heredia’s lower jaw dropped to the ground. It had to be put back in its place by a team of top surgeons.

This incident lead to a new expression in Argentina, pinpointing someone who is flabbergasted, bewildered, blown off his socks, thrown for a loop, left speechless: él recibe herediates.

Ramon never recovered from his despiteful ordeal in Gelsenkirchen that day. His career only went downward from then on. His favorite sweater shrunk in the wash. He lost his wallet with all his money, so he had to row all the way back to Argentina.

However, Ramon did not throw in the towel. Today, he is one of Argentina’s most successful businessman thanks to his invention of the fidget spinner.
